Tanker Seizure in the Indian Ocean
The U.S. military seized three tankers transporting oil from Iran, one of which was intercepted in the Indian Ocean overnight, according to a Thursday announcement. The Pentagon identified the M/T Majestic X as a "sanctioned, stateless vessel" in a post on social platform X. Footage released by the Pentagon shows troops disembarking from helicopters onto the tanker.

Despite the U.S. blockade on Tehran's shipping, Iran is continuing to load millions of barrels of oil onto supertankers. This activity will become more challenging if the U.S. maintains its blockade.
Tanker Attempts Strait of Hormuz Crossing
The Yuri, a U.S.-sanctioned supertanker carrying 2 million barrels of Iranian crude oil loaded from Kharg Island, appeared to be attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz on Friday. Traffic through the waterway is at a virtual standstill, according to Bloomberg's Weilun Soon.
